President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
The announcement was made during the official inauguration of the newly constituted FAAN board held in Abuja on Tuesday.
Ganduje's appointment comes just days after he stepped down from his position as APC National Chairman amidst mounting pressure and internal party controversies.
His quick reassignment has stirred conversation, with many viewing it as a strategic political move by the presidency.
FAAN is responsible for the management and development of all commercial airports in the country, and as board chairman, Ganduje will be expected to play a leading role in policy direction and institutional reform within the aviation sector.
