Barcelona are now considering removing goalkeeper Marc-André Ter Stegen as the club's captain, Diario SPORT reports.
Ter Stegen is not part of the Barcelona squad that will travel to Asia for their pre-season tour.
This comes after the German decided to undergo surgery for his back problems.
Ter Stegen will be out for three months and will miss some matches for Barcelona in the new season.
Meanwhile, in another development, goalkeeper James Trafford is set to join Manchester City this summer.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Trafford is set to undergo his Man City medical next week.
Man City will pay Burnley £27m for the goalkeeper.
