Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has an agreement to leave if the Merseyside club receives an offer of €80 million, according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER.
The winger has been on the radar of Barcelona since the start of the transfer window following his performance last season.
However, the Reds are not looking to sell their key player and have turned down any move for him.
Diaz's agreement with Liverpool
According to Sportal, Barcelona officials are aware of this and have identified the Colombian as their top target following their unsuccessful pursuit of Nico Williams. However, they are unwilling to meet Liverpool's asking price.
Barcelona hope to negotiate a lower fee and potentially structure the payments in instalments to make the transfer feasible. They are even hopeful that Diaz himself might push for the move by expressing his desire to join the Catalan giants.
Such a move seems unlikely, however, as Diaz recently stated in his homeland that he is happy at Liverpool and open to contract extension talks.
Additionally, a significant hurdle to a potential transfer could be similar to the issue that derailed the Nico Williams deal. Diaz is also expected to seek assurances from Barcelona that they can register him within La Liga's financial regulations.
