Real Betis working on loan deal to sign Antony, move inching closer

La Liga club Real Betis are reportedly hoping to sign 25-year-old Brazilian international Antony from Manchester United in the summer transfer window.

According to a report by Caught Offside, Real Betis are looking to sign Antony on loan once again in the summer transfer window. The Brazilian international is unwanted at Old Trafford, and he needs to leave Manchester United in search of regular playing time.

The former Ajax winger was outstanding during his loan spell at the Spanish club in the second half of the 2024/25 season, and it will be interesting to see if Real Betis can get the deal over the line.

The two clubs are currently negotiating a loan agreement, and the move is inching closer. Manchester United do not mind letting the player leave on loan if they cannot secure a permanent sale, although they would prefer to have a purchase obligation clause in that case.

Antony does not have a future at Old Trafford, and regular game time will be hard to come by. It makes sense for him to join a club where he is highly rated. The 25-year-old was an important player for Betis last season, and he will be keen to establish himself as an indispensable part of the team in the upcoming campaign.

The former Ajax winger helped the Spanish side reach the final of the UEFA Europa Conference League, and he will be hoping to help them win silverware this time around. Ideally, Manchester United would prefer to sell him permanently for €35 million and cut their losses. It remains to be seen whether they can reach an agreement for a permanent transfer next summer.

Manchester United exit would be ideal for Antony

The 25-year-old will be desperate to get his career back on track and secure his future. With the World Cup approaching next summer, Antony will be eager to prove himself and fight for a place in the Brazil national team. Regular football in Spain would be ideal for him, and he will be looking to perform at a high level again next season.

Meanwhile, Manchester United need more depth in their attacking unit, and it will be interesting to see how they replace the Brazilian international. The Red Devils looked quite toothless in the final third last season, and they need to improve in that area.
